Structural Performance & System Selection

Load Simulation — Structural Performance Animation

  • Horizontal load capacity simulation per EN 1991-1-1 and DIN 18065. Person leaning, wind pressure and crowd loading scenarios animated in real time.
  • Forces on frameless glass balustrade visualised with directional arrows. Capacity bar varies based on glass thickness and channel profile depth.
  • Safety margin calculated live. FS 1500 residential (1.5 kN/m), FS 3000 commercial (3.0 kN/m), FS 7000 heavy-duty (7.0 kN/m) compared side by side.
  • Emergency evacuation scenario: FS 7000 structural behaviour under 5.5 kN/m panic load, validated by Simutek FEA (ANSYS 2025 R1) data.

Glass Railing Selection Wizard

  • 4-step interactive selection tool: building type, storeys, environmental conditions and result. Automatic system recommendation for 8 scenarios.
  • Laminated glass (VSG) capacity calculation per EN 16612. PVB interlayer coupling factor (ω=0.5) and effective thickness formula.
  • Wind load multiplier by storey count: 1–4 (×1.0), 5–8 (×1.2), 9+ (×1.5). Additional factors for coastal, wind-exposed, crowd risk and >25 m height.
  • Glass thickness selector: 6+6, 8+8, 10+10, 12+12, 15+15 mm laminated glass options with kPa capacity and system limit comparison.
