Why glass at the pool?
Frameless glass railings provide unobstructed pool views while maintaining maximum safety. Parents can keep an eye on children at all times without visual obstruction from metal or wooden fences.
Standards and requirements
Pool barriers must be minimum 1100mm height. Laminated safety glass (VSG) 10+10mm or 12+12mm is standard — if broken, the PVB interlayer holds fragments together.
ESG vs VSG glass
VSG (laminated safety glass) is mandatory for pool areas, not just ESG (toughened). VSG consists of two ESG panes bonded with PVB film — on breakage, glass stays in the film forming a continued barrier.
VisioMod systems for pools
VisioMod FS 1500 for ground-level pools up to 5 floors. FS 3000 for elevated pool areas. All systems use QUALICOAT powder-coated aluminium resistant to chlorine, saltwater and UV.
Care and cleaning
Clean glass surfaces every 2-4 weeks to prevent limescale from splashing water. Aluminium channels are corrosion-resistant and need minimal maintenance.
