Aluminium Alloy 6060 vs 6063: Differences for Pergola and Railing Systems

6060-T66: Rp0.2 = 160 MPa, Rm = 195 MPa. 6063-T5: Rp0.2 = 110 MPa, Rm = 145 MPa. 6063-T6: Rp0.2 = 170 MPa, Rm = 205 MPa. 6063-T5 (press-cooled directly from extrusion) is the most common pergola structural temper.

6060: very fine profile geometries, tight tolerances, superior surface for anodising. 6063: maximum strength for a given cross-section (load-bearing posts, beams), powder-coat-grade surface. All Alcodec LuxaShade structural components use 6063-T5.
