Anchoring Methods and Mounting Details

Anchoring Methods and Mounting Details

Anchor types for glass and aluminium railings: chemical and mechanical anchoring, stainless steel grades, mounting on concrete, steel and timber.

Chemical Anchoring

Epoxy or polyester resin bonded anchors. ETA certified. M10-M16. Standard for FS3000/FS7000.

Mechanical Anchoring

Expansion anchors. Immediate load bearing. M8-M12. Standard for FS1500 and EasyMod MARS.

Stainless Steel Grades

A2 (304): standard. A4 (316): coastal mandatory. A5 (Duplex): industrial. Alcodec default: A4.

Substrates

Concrete: min C20/25. Steel: min 8mm + EPDM isolation. Timber: M12 coach bolt. WDVS: thermal break disc.

Galvanized Fasteners

Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) per ISO 1461 provides corrosion protection at 50-60% lower cost than stainless steel. Suitable for C3-C4 corrosion categories (urban, light industrial). Not suitable for C5 (coastal/heavy industrial) — use A4 stainless. Important: galvanized steel in direct contact with aluminium causes galvanic corrosion — EPDM isolation gasket is mandatory. Alcodec default: A4 stainless; HDG option for interior projects.
